New construction of an updated 4600 SF two story building attached to the apparatus truck bay including offices, communal kitchen, sleeping rooms and baths, a community room, a training area for the firefighters, and site improvements. This project is a retrofit to update the existing Fire Station #46 in Arlington. Construction includes demolition of an existing building attached to the fire truck apparatus bays and a separate bunk house. The original fire pole from Arlington's historic fire station was painstakingly refinished and incorporated into the stairwell as part of the building design.  The City of Arlington lobbied successfully to receive a 13-foot piece of the New York City World Trade Center wreakage which will be incorporated into a public memorial in front of the station.
